He has stretched out His hand over the sea,
He has shaken the kingdoms;
The LORD has given a command concerning Canaan to destroy her strongholds and her fortresses (like Tyre and Sidon).

Isaiah 23:11 AMP

A few weeks ago I felt God lead me to the above verse and speak the below.

A command has gone forth from my mouth that the kingdoms will be shaken. A time for repentance will come again, but for now all that can be shaken must be shaken.
Take these words and heed my cry, the time to repent is nigh.
Don’t step away but stay the course, the path is illuminated before you and you will see everything you need to see.
Great things will happen, fearful things will happen, but these things must take place for my coming glory to be received and land.

This is what I believe regarding the above: God has spoken a divine decree to bring a shaking to us. I believe this shaking will be on an individual level, a Church level and even on national levels. This is so that all that can be shaken will be shaken. I believe this shaking is taking place so that we can be better positioned to receive from God what He wants to bring to us in this new era.

Hebrews 12 explains more about “shakings” from God.

See that you do not refuse Him who speaks. For if they did not escape who refused Him who spoke on earth, much more shall we not escape if we turn away from Him who speaks from heaven, whose voice then shook the earth; but now He has promised, saying, “Yet once more I shake not only the earth, but also heaven.” Now this, “Yet once more,” indicates the removal of those things that are being shaken, as of things that are made, that the things which cannot be shaken may remain. Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us have grace, by which we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear. For our God is a consuming fire.

Hebrews 12:25-29 NKJV, emphasis mine

Verse 27 explains that the shaking is a removal of things that can be shaken, so that those things which cannot be shaken will remain. I do not believe this shaking is coming to condemn us, but it is coming to refine us, to get rid of unnecessary weight, to make us ready for what God wants to give to us, which I believe is a greater manifestation of His glory.

We cannot carry new wine in an old wine skin, or the old wine skin will burst and spill the new wine (see Luke 5:37-38). For the new wine to last, it must be put in a new wine skin as the new wine skin will stretch and adapt as the new wine ferments and matures. The old wine skin would not be able to handle this stretching and so would burst. In the same way, we must be ready and fit for what God wants to give us in this time. This is why He is coming to shake off the things which will not last, the things that will cause us to break and cause what He is bringing to go to waste.

There is much being said in the prophetic community regarding the place and purpose of the Coronavirus in this time. I will leave you to seek God for your own conclusions regarding this, however, there is no doubt that it is causing a shaking in our world. But I believe God can and will turn this for good (see Romans 8:28).

This shaking is exposing flaws in our systems and flaws in our characters.

But let this be a shaking for good. Let us learn from what is being exposed and submit these things into God’s glorious light for Him to deal with so we can be ready for His outpouring of glory.

God is not an angry God. He is not bringing a shaking to condemn us or make us feel bad and wallow in our sin. He is doing this out of His everlasting kindness. He wants us to take part in what He is doing and wants to make sure we will be able to properly steward and handle what He is bringing in this new era. It brings great joy to Him when His children go about the Father’s business, just as Jesus did (see John 5:19-20). It is out of His great kindness that He wants to make us fit for doing His work and taking part in the fullness of His Kingdom.

Along with this shaking will come a conviction to repent, to turn away from things we have been doing and allowing that have been untoward God. These things include sin as we commonly know it, but also things that simply take our attention away from God and what He is doing in this time. Lana Vawser explains more about this conviction. One of the things she explains is that it is a conviction to make room for greater holiness and stepping into the fullness of what God has for us.

Yield to Him in this time.

It’s not easy, especially when there is so much uncertainty and disappointment. This last week I was hit with great disappointment because of the Coronavirus and I had (and still have) to work through it and lean into God.

It is out of His great goodness that He is making us ready for what He wants to bring to us in this new era. And trust me, it will be so worth it.
